GWT-Ext is a powerful widget library that provides rich widgets like Grid with sort, paging and filtering, Tree's with Drag & Drop support, highly customizable ComboBoxes, Tab Panels, Menus & Toolbars, Dialogs, Forms and a lot more right out of the box with a powerful and easy to use API. It uses GWT and Ext. Click on the images below to see a live example of GWT-Ext in action. You can view the code corresponding to each example by clicking on the "Source" tab.

GWT-Ext 0.9.3 has been released. GWT-Ext 0.9.3 is compatible with Ext 1.1.1 and GWT 1.4 Final. Several new examples have been added to the Showcase demos and it is going to be updated frequently with new additions so check back often. - Last Update 11/11

GWT provides a great platform for building rich web applications using a Swing like Java API. However the widgets that GWT provides out of the box are fairly primitive and requires a lot of work by the user (widget extension and beautifying using CSS) in order to build nicer looking UI's. Ext on the other hand has a large number of polished widgets but requires the developer to be proficient in Javascript in order to build larger well designed web apps. With GWT-Ext, you get the best of both worlds!

Note that the demos under the "Links" section might load a little slow when first accessed. This is because the demo files are being served off SVN and not directly from a fileshare. If the examples don't appear to be working, please refresh your browser cache.
